Uncanny Valley (vol I)

chamæleon's first EP consists of three tracks, with the key visual being an AI-generated image that blends LIEV and Farah's faces. This creates an eerie, uncanny effect—both faces are recognizable, yet not entirely distinct. As its title suggests, the EP embarks on a journey through ambiguous territories, where the familiar and unfamiliar merge. It incorporates multiple languages, including Arabic, English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The first track, "leaving," explores ephemerality and nostalgia with glitchy, repetitive, and distant sounds, evoking the faint nature of memory and recollection. The second track, "farah فرح," delves more deeply into themes of identity and language, questioning why Arabic, through the name "Farah," does not take precedence. The final track, "desencanto," reflects on disenchantment and the loss of faith, while also drawing listeners into a ritualistic, esoteric atmosphere, especially through its prominent use of percussion.
